Iran exports $291 million worth of goods to Iraq from Mehran border

Ilam (IP) - The director-general of Ilam Customs (Western Iran) announced the export of $291 million worth of goods in the first four months of the current Iranian year (starting on March 20, 2021) from the international border of Mehran to Iraq.

Iran PressIran news: Director-General of Ilam Customs, Ruhollah Gholami said: "This amount of goods weighing 594,000 tons has been exported to Iraq through the Mehran International Border."

Gholami added: "The most important export items include construction materials, fruits and vegetables, plastic products, industrial products, glass and cups, home appliances and metal products."

The director-general of Ilam customs added: "In the last four months, 907,000 tons have been exported to Iraq, including iron, ceramic tiles, plastics, leeks, iron ore and petrochemical products."

The director-general of Ilam Customs noted: "The activities of Iranian and Iraqi traders on the border of Mehran are carried out in compliance with all health protocols."

The border city of Mehran in the southwest of Ilam, with its international border, is the most important and main route for personal vehicles, trucks carrying export goods and vehicles carrying pilgrims.
