Tehran (IP) - The Pasto-COVO coronavirus vaccine was successful against different mutations of the coronavirus, the chairman of Iran Pasteur Institute said.

Iran PressIran news: "Preliminary results from studies in Cuba show that the Pasto-COVO vaccine has worked very well against South African, Indian and other variants; In other words, it has neutralized them," said Alireza Biglari the chairman of the Iran Pasteur Institute.

Biglari added: "The effectiveness of the joint vaccine between Iran and Cuba is very high and the Pasto-COVO vaccine can provide up to 62% immunity against the variants."

The head of the Pasteur Institute of Iran also said the results of the human trials of this vaccine in Iran have been promising.

Earlier on July 7, Biglari said the process of joint production of the coronavirus vaccine with the Finlay Institute is going well and Iran can reach mass production with a capacity of 3 million doses per month from October.
