The Iranian Ambassador to Georgia called for a discussion on the signing of a mutual legal assistance treaty (MLAT) with Georgia and the extradition of prisoners.

Iran PressAsia: At a meeting with Georgia's Minister of Justice Rati Bregadze, Iran's envoy to Tbilisi Akbar Qasemi, discussed the humanitarian issues, accommodation, and investment of the Iranians in Georgia and the ways to reinforce the judicial cooperation between the two countries, including the fight against organized crimes. 

Qasemi pointed out the Iranian residents wanted to get ensured about their assets and families؛; therefore, they needed to take the necessary legal approaches within the framework of the Georgian law to secure their properties and seek satisfactory ways to protect their assets.

Rati Bregadze, for his part, highlighted the importance of Tehran-Tbilisi relations and said: "We value Georgia's relations with Iran and are ready to work together to overcome some of the problems by forming a joint working group and finding a mutually acceptable solution." 

The Georgian Minister of Justice called for increased consultations to strengthen bilateral ties to expand interactions and public, tourist, and economic exchanges and deepen friendship, peace, and tranquility in Tehran and Tbilisi. 219
