Heads of Iran-Belarus parliamentary friendship groups meet

Belarus (IP) - Heading a delegation to Minsk, the Chairman of Iran-Belarus Friendship Group of the Iranian Parliament met with his Belarusian counterpart.

Iran Press/Europe: Welcoming his Iranian counterpart Abolfazl Amouei, the Chairman of Belarus-Iran Friendship Group of the Belarusian Parliament Andrei Savinykh pointed to the growing ties of the two countries and expected that the bilateral trade ties would be expanded commensurate with the two sides' capacities. 

Savinykh stressed the establishment of direct flights between the two countries, transportation, transit of goods, an increase of trade talks, and scientific cooperation as topics of interest to Belarus so as to strengthen cooperation with Iran.

Abolfazl Amouei for his part stressed the shore-up of bilateral ties and said his country's Iran-Belarus parliamentary friendship group had made efforts to strengthen parliamentary negotiations and cooperation between the two countries.  

Amouei also pointed to the West's sanctions on Iran and Belarus and stressed the boosting of dialogue at different levels.

He announced Iran's readiness to improve cooperation with Belarus in both sides' areas of interest.
