Colonial powers' presence in region leads to today's insecurity in Afghanistan

Tehran (IP): Referring to the situation in Afghanistan, the deputy commander of Iran's Police said that the US-led colonial powers had imposed a deplorable situation on the people of Afghanistan by their illegitimate presence in the region.

Iran PressIran news: Visiting the southeastern borders of the country and the Milk border terminal, Brigadier-General Qasem Rezaei explained the security situation on the borders of Iran and Afghanistan, noting: "According to the reports we received and during our visit, there is complete calm in the border areas of Iran, and we are not worried of border security."

He added: "The result of the illegal presence of the United States in Afghanistan is nothing but destruction and insecurity, and today the people of this country need humanitarian assistance from countries around the world. Foreigners must not interfere in the internal affairs of Afghanistan."

Referring to the situation in Afghanistan, he added: "With their illegitimate presence in the region for more than 40 years, colonial countries led by the criminal United States have deprived the people of the region of peace and comfort and imposed such a deplorable situation on the Muslim people of Afghanistan."
