Some Iraqi sources reported drone was intercepted and shot down over the Green Zone in Baghdad, near US buildings early Tuesday morning.

Iran PressMiddle East: "Warning sirens were sounded at the US embassy in the Green Zone at Al-Tawhid Third Base," the Saberin News telegram channel wrote in a breaking news item.

"The CRAM system is trying to repel a severe attack on the base," the source said, noting that there was a heavy attack on the US embassy's third base.

"After the attack, US military helicopters flew over the embassy complex in Baghdad," Saberin News reported.

Meanwhile, on Monday evening, Ain al-Assad airbase in Iraq's Anbar province was targeted with eight rockets.

Earlier, Saberin News reported explosions at a US military base in Deir Ez-Zor.

Attacks on US logistics convoys and military units in Iraq continue as the United States seeks to delay talks between Baghdad and Washington over the withdrawal of US troops.

Many Iraqi people and groups want the withdrawal of American terrorist forces from Iraq, and the Iraqi parliament has approved a plan for the withdrawal of these forces.

Iraqi groups have previously said that the deadline for Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kazemi's government to withdraw US troops has expired.
