Tehran (IP) - Iranian oil minister says Iran continues producing and exporting oil despite the most severe sanctions imposed by the US in the past three years.

Iran Press/Iran news: Speaking at the 181st Ordinary Meeting of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries’ Conference, Bijan Namdar Zanganeh said: "The oil industry has suffered greatly and was prevented from realizing its home-grown potentials. However, we, Iranians survive and will not bow to bullying. We have maintained a healthy production and a reasonable oil export despite the stated wishes and plans of the former US administration."
He appreciated the Secretary-General of OPEC, Mohammad Barkindo. He attributed the organization’s success to the fact that it was the only economic body in the developing countries that directly affected the global economy.
Also, after the meeting, Zanganeh stressed that the primary responsibility of the next oil minister was to help Iran return to the oil market and get the country's lost market share back, which was caused by the sanctions.
“I am happy that I have carried this huge burden of responsibility on my shoulder for years, and I hope to put it down safely, properly, and honestly. I asked all OPEC members to support the next oil minister,” he stated.
The decision to ease oil output cuts or increase production was made in the OPEC Plus meeting, he added.
The OPEC’s decisions were mainly based on reaching consensus, he said, adding oil market condition had not created any differences.
