Tehran (IP) - The Minister of Defense and the Armed Forces Logistics of the Islamic Republic of Iran stressed that the sanctions had no effect on Iran's defense development.

Iran PressIran news: Brigadier General Amir Hatami, stressed that countries do not agree with the biased request of the United States to extend arms embargo, adding it has had no effect on the country's defense development.

Gen. Hatami, in response to the US government's efforts to extend the arms embargo against the Islamic Republic of Iran, added: "US officials are trying to extend arms embargo, but they will not succeed."

Iran's top defense official stated: "Given that the US government's request for an extension of the arms embargo is excessive and biased, the countries of the world will not relent this request and will not cooperate with the US."

Gen. Hatami also said: "In such circumstances, the US government will not succeed in extending arms embargo against the Islamic Republic of Iran in the UN Security Council."
