Haniyeh to head for Beirut, Tehran

The head of the political bureau of the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) is going to travel to Beirut and Tehran.

Iran PressMiddle East: The Lebanese daily Al-Akhbar reported on Saturday, quoting informed sources, that Ismail Haniyeh, the head of Hamas' political bureau, plans to pay a periodic visit to some Arab countries as well as other states in the region.

According to this report, Ismail Haniyeh is scheduled to meet with the Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei, President Hassan Rouhani, Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, and some other high-ranking officials of Iran and the IRGC officials during his visit to Tehran.

Al-Akhbar added that the head of the Hamas political bureau will probably meet with the Lebanese Hezbollah secretary-general during his visit to Beirut, as well as the three leaders and key officials of the country.

Haniyeh is currently in Cairo talking to Palestinian resistance groups and Egyptian officials about rebuilding Gaza and establishing a ceasefire and a prisoner exchange.
