Ninth shipment of SputnikV COVID-19 vaccine en route to Iran

The ninth shipment of the Sputnik V COVID-19 vaccine, comprising 100,000 doses, was delivered to the Iranian embassy in Moscow today and will be sent to Iran on Thursday.

Iran PressEurope: More than 900,000 doses have been delivered to Iran so far with this shipment.

In addition to the two-million-doses Sputnik V deal signed in February, Iran and Russia signed a 60-million-doses contract in mid-April to fully vaccinate 30 million people in the current Iranian year.

At the same time, the Sputnik V COVID-19 joint production project in Iran has entered the implementation phase.

So far, two Iranian companies have successfully cultured vaccine production cells, and joint production will begin soon.
