MFA spox. meets with Iraqi officials in Baghdad

Baghdad (IP) - Welcomed by his Iraqi counterpart, Iran’s Foreign Ministry Spokesman arrived in Baghdad to meet with Iraqi officials.

Iran PressMiddle East: On the first day of his visit to Iraq, the Foreign Ministry spokesman, Saeed Khatibzadeh, met with Iraq’s National Security advisor Qassim al-Araji, former Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki, Leader of Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq Sheikh Hammam Hamoudi, as well as some Sunni scholars.

He also visited the Al-Tamiz Strategic Institute. At the Al-Nahrain Institute of Studies, Khatibzadeh spoke to Iraqi scholars and thinkers about the latest regional developments and Iran-Iraq relations and answered questions from the audience. 

All-out support for the Iraqi government and legal and democratic processes under the will of the Iraqi people, the Iraqi parliamentary elections, the grounds for the comprehensive expansion of relations between the two countries, the fields of bilateral cultural and media cooperation, and explaining Iran's policy towards this country based on a strong, free, prosperous, developed, united and independent Iraq were among the topics of discussion.
