Tajikistan (IP) - The Iranian Minister of Energy, Reza Ardakanian, called to shore up relations between Iran and Tajikistan.

Iran Press/Asia: During the 14th session of the Joint Economic, Cultural and Social Cooperation Commission meeting on Monday, Reza Ardakanian said: "One of the important areas for expanding trade relations between the two countries is banking relations, where both sides need to take the necessary steps in this regard."

Referring to the implementation of the agreements reached in the 13th session of the joint meeting, Reza Ardakanian added that the implementation of an agreement required a more serious will.

Ardekanian and Tajikistan’s Minister of the Energy and Water Recourses Daler Juma chaired the 14th meeting of the Joint Commission of Iran-Tajikistan Economic Cooperation.

The Iranian energy minister will also hold meetings with other senior Tajik officials during his stray in Dushanbe to weigh plans for closer economic ties between the two Persian-speaking nations.

The Iranian Minister of Energy has traveled to Dushanbe, the capital of Tajikistan, to attend the 14th session of the Joint Economic, Cultural and Social Cooperation Commission meeting between Iran and Tajikistan.

He is scheduled to meet with other Tajik officials on promoting economic relations.

Prior to Tajikistan, Ardakanian visited Moscow and participated in the 24th Saint Petersburg International Economic Conference.
