Tehran (IP) - Within the week ending on the 4th of June, 2021, the IME (Iran Mercantile Exchange) witnessed a trade of 905,197 tonnes of commodities with a total value of nearly 567 million USD, showing 51% and 60% of growth in volume and value of trades respectively, as compared to figures in the previous week.

Iran PressIran news: According to the IME's international affairs and PR report, the exchange traded 468,140 tonnes of commodities on its mineral and industrial trading floor valued at more than 367 million USD.

On this floor, the IME sold 325,270 tonnes of steel, 11,300 tonnes of copper, 9,700 tonnes of aluminum, 160 tonnes of molybdenum concentrate, 30 tonnes of precious metals concentrate, 25,000 tonnes of iron ore pellets and concentrate, 1,080 tonnes of zinc ingots, 36,600 tonnes of cement, 19 kg of gold bars, 50,000 tonnes of fine iron ore and 9,000 tonnes of sponge iron (DRI).

Furthermore, the IME's oil and petrochemical trading floor hosted a trade of 435,224 tonnes of commodities worth more than 200 million USD.

Products sold here included 94,300 tonnes of vacuum bottom, 134,233 tonnes of bitumen, 79,449 tonnes of polymeric products, 35,937 tonnes of chemicals, 49,000 tonnes of lube cut, 4,745 tonnes of base oil, 100 tonnes of argon, 35,000 tonnes of sulfur, and 2,470 tonnes of PDA TAR.

It's worth noting that there were also 1,833 tonnes of commodities traded on the IME's side market.
