Presidential candidate:

Tehran (IP) - A candidate for the 13th round of Iran's Presidential Election said that a country that produces raw materials should not have the problem of meeting the basic needs of downstream industries.

Iran PressIran News: After recording an IRIB election campaign program on Sunday, Amir-Hossein Ghazizadeh-Hashemi told reporters that there would be no need to import raw materials if 25 percent of the suspended employment capacity were used in the upstream petrochemical industry.

Stating that each ton of petrochemical exports is valued at $ 450 for Iran, he noted that about $ 13 billion worth of petrochemical products had been exported annually.

He called for reforming the tax policy on products of important and strategic industries, including the petrochemical industry, stressing that raw materials which play a key role in the production chain should not be exported.

He underlined that the final product of the petrochemical and other important industries should be included in the export process after meeting the domestic needs.

The 13th round of Iran's Presidential Election will be held on June 18, 2021.
