Tehran (IP) – A candidate for the 13th round of Iran's Presidential Election said his opponent was the one who caused the status quo in the country.

Iran PressIran News: In his pre-debate speech on Saturday, Mohsen Rezaei said that he would take part in the televised debates to defend the Iranian nation and the legacy of the Islamic Revolution in order to present his plans. 

Rezaei pointed out that he was fully prepared to compete with other presidential candidates, adding: "In this debate, my opponent is the one who has led the country to the [critical] status quo." 

Rezaei stressed that he had no other goal but to be honest, and that he would carry out his actions strongly and with no compromise.

The first televised debate of the 13th round of Iran's presidential election will be held today (Saturday) at 5:00 PM Tehran time (12:30 GMT).
