Iran, Sri Lanka urge boosting ties

Colombo (IP) - The Iranian ambassador to Colombo and the Sri Lankan foreign minister stressed the need to expand bilateral cooperation.

Iran PressAsia: On Monday, Hashem Ashja’zadeh, Iran's Ambassador to Sri Lanka, in a meeting with Sri Lankan Foreign Minister Pial Nishanta de Silva, emphasized the expansion of cooperation between Iran and Sri Lanka and said: "Cooperation between the two countries in the field of investment, tourism and education will be expanded."

Sri Lankan Foreign Minister Pial Nishanta de Silva also called for strengthening ties with Iran on investment, tourism and education, citing long-standing historical ties with Iran.
