Russia (IP) - The Head of the Russian Academy of Agricultural Sciences called for a cooperation contract with Iran's universities and academies.

Iran PressEurope: During a Friday visit of Iran's Minister of Agriculture, Kazem Khavazi, Vladimir Traknaschi of the Russian Academy of Agricultural Sciences, said there were hundreds of educational institutions in Russia are active in agricultural research and that cooperation with Iran could lead to improved productive activities.

He said the trip of the Iranian agriculture delegation would prepare the grounds for the cooperation. 

The Iranian minister Khavazi said that there were research grounds between the two countries and expressed hope that the grounds would be prepared. 

He referred to the Agriculture Ministry's memorandum of understanding with the St. Petersburg State University.

Iranian agriculture minister announced his country's readiness to conclude a cooperation contract with the university, adding that the ground for concluding a cooperation agreement is fully prepared.

The Iranian delegation visited the Russian Academy of Agricultural Sciences research and technology units and the university's Soil Museum.

Iran's Minister of Agriculture and his deputies arrived in Moscow on Thursday for a two-day visit.
