Tehran (IP) - In a telephone conversation with his Chinese counterpart, the Iranian president dubbed the relations between the two countries strategic and called for speeding up the implementation of the comprehensive provisions of the Iran-China 25-year Cooperation Program.

Iran Press/Iran News: President Rouhani expressed Iran's readiness to promote economic cooperation with China in West Asia and said the cooperation would further strengthen relations between the two countries, especially in the economic and trade fields.

"Iran is ready to cooperate with China on various issues in the West Asian region, including resolving the Palestinian issue," Rouhani said.

Rouhani also called for close cooperation between the two countries to counter the Cold War and the US-Western coalition against independent countries, including Iran and China.

The President also thanked China for its assistance to Iran in combating the Coronavirus and hoped that the vaccine needed by Iran would be provided by continuing cooperation.

The Chinese president also stressed the need to implementation of Iran–China 25-year Cooperation Program as soon as possible.

Referring to the nuclear talks in Vienna, Xi Jinping said that the United States could not withdraw from or return to the deal whenever it wanted and that lifting all sanctions against Iran was necessary for the United States to return to JCPOA.

Regarding the cooperation between Iran and China in the fight against Corona, including the supply of Corona vaccine, Xi Jinping stressed: "We understand Iran's urgent need for a vaccine, and we will fulfill our obligations to provide the vaccine required by Iran."

Referring to the country's cooperation with Iran in constructing the Arak reactor, the Chinese president said: "We are committed to our commitment and to accelerate the work."
