Tehran (IP)- Minister of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts, has said that any country that wants to introduce its cultural heritage to the world needs museums because museums have become part of society today and also part of the daily life of the Iranians.

Iran PressIran news: "Museums narrates history for a country and the achievements of a nation, museums are cultural heritage exhibitions that link the past to the present and the present to the future," Ali Asghar Mounesan told Iran Press on Tuesday.

The Minister of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts stated that museums are important for transferring experience and science and the progress of a nation and a country. They also are crucial for Iran, with the rich cultural heritage and 11,000 years of civilization.

"The museums are a place for research, gathering of cultural heritage activists and artists," Mounesan said.

"Before the victory of the Islamic Revolution, there were only 45 museums and now their number has increased to more than 700 museums," the minister added.
