Rome (IP): A private meeting was held between the Iranian foreign minister and the Leader of the World Catholic Church in the Vatican City, Italy.

Iran Press/Europe: On Monday, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif met privately with Leader of World Catholic Church Pope Francis in the Vatican City, the correspondent of the National Catholic Registry in Rome reported.

Another reporter tweeted that Zarif has discussed the Middle East crisis in this meeting.

Zarif meeting with Vatican PM and Secretary of State

The Iranian top diplomat also met with Prime Minister and Cardinal Secretary of State of Vatican Pietro Parolin and Archbishop Paul Gallagher, Vatican Secretary for Relations with States, on Monday.

Iranian Foreign Minister Zarif arrived in Rome yesterday to meet with Vatican and Italian officials, and this morning met with the Italian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Luigi Di Maio.
