Iran Press/ Iran news: In a phone conversation with Ismail Haniyeh, Senior Hamas Leader, Ali-Akbar Velayati congratulated the victories and successes of the Palestinian people and Hamas as one of the important and influential forces in Palestine, as well as condoling the martyrdom of the oppressed people, including Palestinian women and children, saying: "Palestinian people have resisted for more than a quarter of a century against the crimes of the usurping Zionist regime. They have fought and showed that they are flag bearers of Islamic awakening. Years before the victory of the Islamic Revolution, in addition to trying to liberate the Iranian nation, Imam Khomeini also tried to liberate Palestine and declared the last Friday of the holy month of Ramadan as International Quds Day."
Velayati further added: "The Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei has continued this path with the same firmness and seriousness and has always emphasized the full support of the Palestinian people as the most important issue in the Islamic world and the Islamic Republic of Iran."
"God willing, victory will be achieved soon, and the honorable people of Palestine have shown that they are always at the forefront of the liberation movement in the Islamic world,” Velayati noted.
Ismail Haniyeh, the chief of Hamas' political bureau, while appreciating the positions of the Islamic Republic of Iran on the Palestinian issue, said: "I thank the valuable and strong positions of the Islamic Republic of Iran and I would like to send greetings to the Islamic Revolution Leader and the people of Iran and emphasize that the Islamic Republic of Iran is one of the leading countries to support the cause of Palestine and Holy al-Quds."
He added: "The Palestinian people are united everywhere and this battle to support al-Quds and al-Aqsa Mosque continues with the unity of all Palestinians.”
