Tehran (IP) - The secretary of the high council of free special trade zones (FTZs) said 94 projects worth 6000 billion Tomans would be inaugurated across Iran on Thursday.

Iran PressIran news: Attending a press conference on Sunday, Hamidreza Momeni stated: "Since the last [Iranian] year, free trade zones' projects were planned to be accomplished in five sections and up to now, three sections including 163 projects with the value of 34,000 billion Tomans and creating job opportunities for 13,000 people have been fulfilled."

He noted that in the fourth event on Thursday, 94 projects with the value of 6,000 billion Toman and creating 3,000 job opportunities in Qeshm, Aras, Salafchegan, and Payam would be put into the operation with the president's order via video conference.

The official pointed out that the projects would be in tourism, industry, oil and gas, energy production, fishing, and agriculture in seven free zones and Imam Khomeini International Airport.

He went on to say that the projects would be put into operation with the investment of private sections, and only five percent belonged to free zones, which were mainly in creating infrastructure.

"After the fourth event, the number of projects will reach 257, with the value of 40,000 billion Tomans and 16,000 job opportunities will be created," Momeni concluded.
