Lavrov and Riyad al-Maliki

Moscow (IP): During a press conference with his Palestinian counterpart, the Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said Moscow was deeply concerned about the escalation of tensions in East Jerusalem ( al-Quds) and the Gaza Strip.

Iran PressEurope: Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, during a joint press conference on Wednesday with his Palestinian counterpart Riyad al-Maliki in Moscow, called for a reduction of tensions in the region as soon as possible.

Lavrov added that the current situation in Palestine between the Palestinians and the Israeli military is a matter of concern for Russia.

The Russian Foreign Minister added that Russia is ready to explain its ideas for resuming Palestinian-Israeli talks to resolve the conflict.

"We hope that a joint commission meeting between Russia and Palestine on economic cooperation will be held shortly," Lavrov said.
