Tehran (IP) - The Leader of the Islamic Revolution, in a televised address to the nation, described the elections as a key matter for defending the country's interests, urging people not to be discouraged from participating in elections.

Iran Press/Iran news: The Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei, who delivered a speech on Sunday on the nineteenth day of the holy month of Ramadan and on the occasion of the martyrdom anniversary of the first Shia Imam, Imam Ali (AS), also referred to the occasions of Teacher Day and Labor Day, urging people to be fully encouraged to participate in the elections.

"Elections are literally an important opportunity and people should not be discouraged from the election," he said. "The other thing is that the election should not be ruined with useless words and false promises without support."

The Leader went on to say that those who want to take part in the presidential election must offer jobs to the people.

"The election is an irreplaceable opportunity that nothing can replace in strengthening the foundations of the system," he added.

"When the people are present, no power can shake the country. So, everyone who participates in the elections is working for the fate of the country and its future," Ayatollah Khamenei noted.

"All our elections have been healthy, there may have been irregularities that took place, but they did not affect the outcome. There have been cases that have been complained about and we have been following up and doing serious research. A violation that is against trust has not been in our elections at all," he added.

The IRGC Quds Force is the biggest deterrent to passive diplomacy in West Asia

The Leader of the Islamic Revolution introduced the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) Quds Force, in his speech, as being the biggest, effective factor in preventing passive diplomacy in West Asia.

He stated: "The Quds Force has been able to put into action the independent policy of the Islamic Republic in the region, which is based on honor.”

Strengthening of production leads to nullifying sanctions

Pointing to the US sanctions against Iran, the leader added: "Strengthening of production would lead to the nullifying and lifting of sanctions."

On the occasion of Labor Day, Ayatollah Khamenei said: "We had a good program on Labor Day last year. Video communication with workers and entrepreneurs was held and the meeting was memorable. This year, unfortunately, due to the recent spread of this nasty virus, it has not been possible for workers to gather somewhere and talk to them from a distance, and this British variant of the virus is more dangerous, as they say."

"One issue is the issue of supporting workers, and the other is the issue of job creation. As for praising the worker, it is enough to say that the hand of the worker is the hand that God and His Prophet love. The Prophet kissed the hand of the worker," he added.

"The working class has a great respect vis-à-vis all members of society. Because in an economy that wants to stand on its own two feet and does not rely on foreign countries, in such an economy, the worker plays an important role and is the main pillar. Production depends on the worker," noted the Leader.

"This is one of the roles that people should pay attention to and it should become a public culture," he said.

"In the Islamic Republic, of course, workers' rights are greater than elsewhere. Because from the very beginning of the formation of this system, the ill-wishers tried to put the working class in front of the system, but this society stood by the system," Ayatollah Khamenei added.

He further called supporting production as one of the types of support for workers, saying: "If we want to support the national production of the country, we must support the workers."

"Of course, supporting the worker is protecting the national wealth. If the worker of a country is happy, he creates national wealth and this national wealth creates honor for the country. It has such effects if they support the worker," the Leader added.

"There is talk of sanctions these days, but it has been going on for several years. In my opinion, the best and most successful way to neutralize the sanctions is to strengthen national production. If we literally follow this, you can be sure that they will be neutralized and eliminated. Because when they see that the country was not affected by the sanctions and internal efforts increases, the enemy will be forced to lift the sanctions," he stressed.

Teachers, officers of the progress of the country

Speaking about the holy month of Ramadan, he said: "The peak of Ramadan is the days of Ghadr and the blessed night of Ghadr. We reached this peak. Let us use the unique opportunity of supplication, to God, and this month is a divine feast. The greatest divine feasts are in these blessed days."

"This prayer that you recite, this tear that you shed, all these are the banquets of the Lord. Appreciate these and pray for yourself and all your religious brothers and sisters, and your country and your community and ask God and be sure of obedience. It is narrated that when you pray, you can be sure that it will be answered," the Leader noted.

Elsewhere in his remarks, the Leader noted: “Teacher's Day in the Islamic Republic coincides with the martyrdom of the late Martyr Motahhari. There are characteristics in him that this should be a model for all teachers, whether teachers of seminaries, universities, or schools. Well, the late Motahhari was a thinker, he was a scholar, he was a philosopher, he was a jurist. These were his characteristics, but his very important characteristics were that he both produced thoughts and disseminated thoughts. Dissemination of thought is very important."

"We had seen that he was constantly thinking and constantly concerned to spread the right and deep thought in his audience and he had started a soft jihad in every sense of the word. Over the years, he resisted and defeated the invading waves and fought with them. The problem for him was not only the Marxist and Eastern waves but also the Eastern thoughts and the Western liberal thoughts," Ayatollah Khamenei said.

"He guided the audience and reassured them of the right path. Martyr Motahhari was responsible and task-oriented," he added.

"The scientific heritage of his predecessors was in his possession, and he himself added to it and passed it all on to his students. Whether in the classroom, in writing, or in lectures and various student meetings," the Leader noted.

"Our valued teacher community must put this at the forefront. The teacher's job is to pass on the legacy of the past to the next generation. He must skillfully pass all this on to the next generation, and he must make his disciples thoughtful," he added.

"This is a heavy responsibility and requires a great sense of responsibility," the Leader of the Islamic Revolution said.

"Fortunately, education is widely available in our country today. In the past, this amount of education was not provided for youth, teenagers and children, which exists today thanks to the blessings of the Islamic Republic," he added.

"The possibility of education has increased with the increase in the number of teachers and their high literacy, thank God. Therefore, the teachers are the officers of the progress of the country," the Leader stressed.
