Library cooperation between Iran, Kazakhstan

Tehran (IP) - The Director of the National Library and Archives of Iran, and the Director of the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan, agreed on Monday to develop the library cooperation between the two countries.

Iran PressIran news: The head of the National Library of Kazakhstan, Bakhtamal Osmanova, speaking in a webinar, referred to establishing an Iran pavilion at the National Library of Kazakhstan in 2005 to help understand Iranian culture and civilization and called for more cooperation between the two national libraries.

Osmanova, referring to the 7 million-volume treasury of the National Library of Kazakhstan and the Persian manuscripts, noted that the oldest manuscript in the library is a 12th-century Qur'an that needs to be restored.

The Director of the National Library and Archives of Iran, Ashraf Boroujerdi also announced her readiness to interact with the National Library of Kazakhstan to provide digital copies of books and hold webinars between thinkers of the two countries.
