Iran free style wrestler bags gold medal

Almaty (IP) - Iran's national freestyle wrestling team won the gold medal on the first day of the Asian Championships in Almaty, Kazakhstan.

Iran PressAsia: In the 97kg weight category, Ali Sha'bani, after a break in the first round, defeated Min Won Seo from South Korea in the second round with a result of 11:0 and reached the semi-final.

At this stage, Sha'bani defeated Sativart Kadian from India with a score of 10:0 and advanced to the final match.

Shabani beat Kazakhstan's Alishir Yergali 12-2 in the final to win gold.

Also on the first day of the Asian Championships in Kazakhstan, In the 97kg weight category, Mehdi Sarlak won Silver, in the 65kg, Morteza Qiyasi won Bronze and in 97kg weight Ali Savadkohi won the fourth medal and the second Silver for Iran national team of free wrestling.
