There is no restriction on the entry of foreign currency by Iraqi traders to buy Iranian goods on the border of Shalamcheh in Khuzestan Province (southern Iran).

Iran Press/Iran News: In the meeting of the Khorramshahr Economic Committee in the Chamber of Commerce of this city on Thursday, it was stated: There are no restrictions on the entry of foreign currency by Iraqi traders to buy Iranian goods at the border of Shalamcheh.

Previously, there was a restriction on the entry of foreign currency by Iraqi traders, according to which Iraqi traders could bring only $ 10,000 a day to buy Iranian goods at the Shalamcheh border.

Exports of non-oil goods from the Shalamcheh International Border were officially resumed on July 8 after a four-month shut down due to the spread of the coronavirus, in accordance with an agreement reached with the Iraqi side.

Agricultural goods, foodstuffs, fish, fruits and vegetables, steel products, construction materials, cement, and clinker (cement raw materials), and power plant parts are the main exports from the Shalamcheh border to Iraq.

The Shalamcheh border is located 15 km from Khorramshahr and 25 km from Basra, Iraq.
