Turkmen president says Ashgabat determined to boost ties with Iran

Ashgabat (IP) – In a meeting with the Iranian foreign minister, the president of Turkmenistan expressed his support toward Tehran-Ashgabat relations and stressed his country's determination to expand cooperation with Iran.

Iran Press/Asia: Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad-Javad Zarif met with Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow in Ashgabat on the last leg of his regional tour to four Central Asian countries on Thursday.

Explaining the dimensions of Iran-Turkmenistan relations in various political, economic, and cultural sectors, Zarif underlined the importance of relations between the two neighboring countries.

Berdimuhamedow also expressed his support toward the relations in various political, economic, and cultural spheres and reiterated his country's determination to cooperate with Iran.

Later, Zarif also met with the Turkmen foreign minister.
