Iran Press/Asia: Iran's Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif met with Kazakhstan's President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev in Nur-Sultan, the capital, discussing the issues of the mutual interest of the two countries.
Zarif considered Kazakhstan as one of Iran's neighbors in the Caspian Sea and assessed the two countries' close positions over regional and international issues as important and positive.
He also stressed efforts to find ways of lasting cooperation to maintain and expand relations between the two countries.
The Kazakh President, for his part, considered the Islamic Republic of Iran as Kazakhstan's key partner in the region and stressed comprehensive expansion of ties in political and economic areas.
Zarif has previously traveled to Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan to meet with the two countries' presidents and foreign ministers.
Turkmenistan is the next destination of the Iranian Foreign Minister.
Zarif also traveled to Tajikistan last week.
