Bishkek (IP) - Iran's Foreign Minister, who is in Bishkek for talks with Kyrgyz officials, met with Kyrgyz President Sadir Chaparov to discuss issues of mutual interest.

Iran Press/Asia: During the meeting, Mohammad Javad Zarif congratulated Chaparov on his election as President of Kyrgyzstan, pointing to the existing capacities for expanding cooperation between the two countries in various fields.

Zarif also stressed the need to follow up on the previous decisions of the Joint Economic Cooperation Commission of the two countries, as well as the readiness of the 13th meeting of the Commission.

For his part, the President of Kyrgyzstan stressed the importance of developing cooperation with our country, saying that the existence of political relations between the two countries shows the interest of both sides to improve the level of bilateral cooperation.

Chaparov expressed satisfaction with the parliamentary relations between the two countries, noting the high capacity for economic cooperation, especially in the fields of agriculture, medicine, and construction.

The President of Kyrgyzstan also expressed his appreciation for the humanitarian assistance provided by the Islamic Republic of Iran to combat the Corona epidemic.
