Iran Press/Europe: Maria Zakharova added that Lavrov will visit Tehran on April 13 at the invitation of Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif. The two sides are also expected to discuss some important international issues, including the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).
The Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman added: "certainly the situation in Syria, Afghanistan, Yemen, the Persian Gulf and the region will be discussed during the meeting."
Saeed Khatibzadeh, the spokesman for Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on Thursday evening stated that both sides will confer on various aspects of bilateral relations, regional issues, especially the latest developments in the Caucasus, Syria, Yemen and Afghanistan.
He also said cooperation between the two countries in regional and international forums, as well as important issues such as UNHCR, countering unilateral actions and illegal US sanctions are the most important topics in the upcoming meeting. 219
