Beijing (IP) - Iran's Ambassador to Beijing Mohammad Keshavarzzadeh said on Saturday that Iran-China's comprehensive cooperation document is only based on mutual interests between them.

Iran PressAsia: Iran-China comprehensive cooperation document is not against any other countries, and it is only based on mutual interests between Iran and China, Mohammad Keshavarzzadeh tweeted on Saturday following the signing of the 25-year comprehensive document on the Iran-China strategic partnership by the Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi and his Iranian counterpart Mohammad Javad Zarif.

He added that the signing of the Iran-China comprehensive cooperation document identifies the two countries' cooperation capacities, particularly in the fields of technology, industry, transportation, and energy.

This document draws a clear horizon for the operationalization of Iran and China's comprehensive strategic partnership, and it is not against a third country, he noted.

For the first time, the cooperation document was discussed in 2015 when Chinese President Xi Jinping visited Iran to lead bilateral ties to a comprehensive and strategic level.

Wang, who arrived in Iran on Friday at the invitation of the Iranian Foreign Minister, met Zarif on Saturday morning.

In addition to his Iranian counterpart, Wang met Iran's President Hassan Rouhani and Ali Larijani, the advisor to the Leader of Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei.

Iran's Foreign Ministry also inaugurated today an exhibition of historical documents on Iran-China cooperation in the wake of the 50th anniversary of establishing diplomatic ties.
