Tehran (IP) – Iran's President called relations with China strategic and important for the Islamic Republic of Iran and stressed the will of the two countries for long-term cooperation, emphasizing the development and deepening of relations in all fields, including politics and economics.

Iran Press/Iran News: In a meeting with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi on Saturday, Hassan Rouhani stressed the need to speed up the implementation of agreements on important infrastructure and development projects.

Meanwhile, in the meeting between Iranian and Chinese Foreign Ministers, the 25-year comprehensive document on the Iran-China strategic partnership was finalized and inked on Saturday in the Iranian capital.

The President of the Islamic Republic of Iran stated: "Cooperation between the two countries is very important for implementing Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) and the fulfillment of the obligations by European countries and it can change the current situation."

Emphasizing the comprehensive efforts to fight terrorism and extremism in the region, Rouhani referred to the Hormuz Peace Eandeavor (HOPE) initiative presented by Iran to achieve this goal and blamed the US military presence in the Middle East that has caused instability in the region.

"Regarding the coronavirus vaccine, it is necessary to increase cooperation between the two countries, and we want more vaccines from China," he said.

Regarding Tehran-Beijing bilateral cooperation, the Chinese Foreign Minister said: China has always attached great importance to this issue.

China has always opposed the US extravagance and unilateral sanctions and has shown its opposition in the international arena, he said, adding that maximum pressure is an illegal and inhumane act that lacks international support.
