Iran Press/Iran News: The Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei has wished Assad good health.
Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and his wife, Asma, tested positive for COVID-19, the president's office said in a statement last week.
In the meeting with Shafiq Dayoub, the Leader's advisor Ali Akbar Velayati called Syria one of the pillars of the resistance and said: "Cooperation between the two governments and the great nation of Iran and Syria is growing and strategic."
Velayati also announced the Islamic Republic's readiness to send a specialist medical team to Damascus to treat the Syrian president.
He added: "Iranian leader considers, Bashar al-Assad as a distinguished figure and one of the great leaders in the region and the resistance front; So I was ordered to convey his message to the president by you."
