Iran's envoy:

New York (IP): The Permanent Representative of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the United Nations in a letter to UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres on Sunday denied any Iranian involvement in recent attacks on US bases in Iraq, calling US airstrikes on Iraqi forces as a violation of international law.

Iran PressAmerica: "Majid Takht-e Ravanchi" in the letter strongly condemned the recent US attack on Iraqi forces on the Syrian-Iraqi border and said that US attacks on the Iraqi-Syrian border have increased the intensity of regional tensions while having no benefit except for terrorist outfits.

Takht-e Ravanchi added that such dangerous actions, which are completely wrongly justified by the self-proclaimed interpretation of Article 51 of the UN Charter, are a violation of the sovereignty of the countries of the region and a blatant symbol of a gross violation of international law and the UN Charter.

The Permanent Representative of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the United Nations also referred to the claim of the US Delegation that it had assigned the attack on its bases in Iraq to Iranian-backed forces and said: "The US Permanent Representative to the United Nations has tried to accuse the Islamic Republic of Iran of supporting so-called "non-governmental militia groups" in Iraq, a charge that, as in the past, is categorically denied.

Takht-e-Ravanchi emphasized that the Islamic Republic of Iran had not, directly or indirectly, been involved in any armed attack by any entity or individual against the United States in Iraq, thus denying any allegation of Iran's explicit or implicit involvement.

We reject any claim of the attack on American forces in Iraq. Such an assignment is completely baseless, it has no legal validity and is invalid.

The Permanent Representative of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the United Nations finally called for the letter to be registered as a document of the United Nations Security Council.

The people and many Iraqi groups consider American forces' presence in this country as occupation and emphasized their immediate withdrawal from the country. The Iraqi parliament also approved a plan last year to withdraw US troops.
