Najaf (IP) - Supporters of the Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kazemi took to the streets on Saturday, asking the governor of Najaf governor to resign.

Iran PressMiddle East: Protesters set fire on tires blocking the city's streets. The protesters had given the governor of Najaf three days to resign. Najaf police tried to quell street protests.

The Iraqi people have protested many times in recent years due to economic problems.

Last year demonstrations led to the removal of Adil Abdul-Mahdi from the post of Iraqi Prime Minister.
