Tehran (IP) - The 13th International festival of “HARKAT” was inaugurated virtually on Saturday morning in Iran university of Science and Technology.

Iran Press/Iran News: This virtual festival which lasts for three days aims at exhibiting the achievements and works of scientific unions. Deputy Minister of Science, Research and Technology for Culture and Social Affairs, Gholamreza Ghaffari highlighted the role and efforts of university students in holding such festivals saying that scientific unions help the society to grow and move forward.

"Such festivals and activities need to be supported to improve our society," he added.

The secretary of the festival, Abdolmajid Arjmandi underscored the role of universities to solve the problems in society along with academic activities.

He also expressed hope that the coronavirus pandemic would end soon, and universities could hold these festivals in greater numbers.

University and business, improving skills, environment challenges, and innovation in small businesses are among the four main elements of the festival.

96 innovative ideas were submitted to the jury in 42 teams from 36 universities.

Five workshops were held and 11 mentors were tasked to train the participants.
