Gov't Spox in reaction to US conditions:

Tehran (IP) - The spokesman for the Iranian government said that the United States was not in a position to set conditions for fulfilling its international obligations and the only way to revive JCPOA, is by lifting sanctions.

Iran PressIran News: Ali Rabiei in his weekly press conference on Tuesday in response to Iran Press' question regarding the remarks of some US officials about the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) and the lack of will on the part of the US to lift sanctions, stated: "If these are the positions of the US side for domestic purposes, we have no view on it, but if they are the new administration’s policy, they are wrong and the result of misleading consultations."

The government spokesman stated: "The United States is not in a position to set conditions for fulfilling its international obligations, and unlike the United States, which avoided returning to JCPOA, Iran is ready to fulfill all its obligations as soon as possible."

Rabiei noted that according to the policy announced and finalized by the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, the only way to revive JCPOA was to lift the sanctions and all parties to return to the full fulfillment of their obligations.

The spokesman for the Iranian government stressed: "If the United States is thinking otherwise, it only wastes the valuable time that could benefit the interests of both countries. However, I ultimately think that in the near future the US government will be forced to discern the right policy."
