Tehran and Damascus signed a cooperation agreement to restart SIAMCO auto manufacturing company in Syria.

Iran Press/Iran News: This agreement was signed yesterday with the delegates of Sorena Sattari, the Vice President for Science and Technology of Iran, who has traveled to Syria and in the presence of Javad Torkabadi, Iran's ambassador to Syria.

The Syrian Minister of Industry considered the meeting important for the development of the country's industry and economy after the end of the internal crisis, adding: "In this meeting, it was agreed to restart the Syrian Iranian auto manufacturing company SIAMCO."

A member of the board of directors of SIAMCO, said that if the company resumes operations, car prices in Syria will fall in two months.

Sorena Sattari, Vice President for Science and Technology of the Islamic Republic of Iran, has traveled to Syria with 40 knowledge-based and creative companies. 

Car companies in Syria, including SIAMCO, have been shut down since November 2019 after stopping the import of auto parts.
