Tehran (IP): The Director-General of Western Europe in Iran's Ministry of Foreign Ministry stated that the cross-border sanctions should not affect the basis of Iran-Europe trade relations.

Iran PressIran News: During the Europe-Iran Economic Conference on Monday, the Director-General of Western Europe in Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs Peyman Saadat stated: "The value of Iran-Europe trade has decreased from 21 billion euros in 2017 to 4.5 billion euros due to the consequences of the unilateral withdrawal of the United States from the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) and the oppressive sanctions."

He also considered the three principles of diplomacy, resilience, and cooperation as the foundations for the development of Iran-Europe trade relations, adding: "Iran has been able to prove over the past years that it can continue its path despite pressures."

The Europe-Iran Economic Conference started today (Monday) with the presence of over 3,000 participants with the aim of creating the necessary platform for trade, scientific and technological cooperation in order to increase Iran's non-oil exports.
