The Washington Post reported the Biden administration decides to impose new sanctions on Russia.

Iran PressAmerica: The Biden administration is preparing new sanctions and plans to impose sanctions on Russia, the Washington Post reported, citing sources familiar with the matter.

"The sanctions are in response to the Russian espionage cyber attack and the poisoning of Alexei Navalny, a Russian opposition activist," the paper said.

According to the Washington Post, the Biden administration called the "Solarwinds" hacking operation, which led to the hacking of government agencies and private companies, a reckless and disruptive act, and this leads US officials to claim that Russia's hacking operation is not the equivalent to US espionage, and therefore they have to impose sanctions those responsible.

Earlier, US President Joe Biden said in a speech at the Munich Security Conference that Russia's recklessness and hacking of US, Europe, and the world computer networks had become a vital security issue that needs to be addressed collectively.
