The Iraqi Ministry of Health and Environment announced that the country has entered the most dangerous stage of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Iran PressMiddle East: Abdul Amir al-Halafi, director-general of the Iraqi Ministry of Public Health, on Friday, said that the lack of adherence of citizens to health protocols is the reason for the increase in the number of cases and deaths due to the Coronavirus.

 Iraqi health official added: "The shortest and most effective way is to adhere to preventive measures and mask."

The Iraqi Ministry of Health has announced the number of new Covid-19 patients in the country over the past 24 hours stand at 4,024, bringing the total number of infected patients in Iraq to 661,477.

The Iraqi Ministry of Health also announced that 12 deaths due to coronavirus have been registered in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of Covid-19 victims in the country to 13,232.

Since yesterday, Iraq has introduced a new set of preventive measures, including a curfew from 8 pm to 5 am for two weeks to counter the pandemic. 219
