The Biden administration on Thursday took a major step, joining with European partners in offering to begin talks with the Iranians for the first time in four years.

Iran Press/America: Announcing that the United States is ready to re-engage with the P5 + 1 on Iran's nuclear program, Joe Biden told at a virtual conference in Munich on Friday saying that the United States is examining Iran's activities.

Iran previously set a deadline on Feb. 21, vowing that if oil and banking sanctions are not lifted, it will expel the U.N.’s nuclear inspectors from the country.

According to US media, President Joe Biden’s administration wants to revive the 2015 nuclear deal, but is demanding to see changes from Tehran before it will lift the heavy sanctions imposed on the country by the Trump team.

“The United States would accept an invitation from the European Union High Representative to attend a meeting ... to discuss a diplomatic way forward on Iran’s nuclear program,” State Department spokesman Ned Price said in a statement.

In other parts of his speech at the Munich Security Conference, Biden went on to say that the withdrawal of US troops from Germany and the lifting of the ceiling set by the previous government for the number of US troops in Germany.

"Afghanistan will never become a terrorist stronghold," he said, claiming that "Washington will not allow ISIS to regroup."

In the speech, Joe Biden accused Russia of trying to undermine US governance, saying, "Russia is trying to undermine US governance. "He called for cooperation with European allies to counter Russia's actions." 219
