Iran, Qatar stress expansion of transportation cooperation

Tehran (IP) - Iran’s Minister of Road and Urban Development and Qatar’s Minister of Transportation and Communication stressed cooperation in the transportation industry.

Iran PressIran News: Receiving Jasim bin Saif al-Sulaiti on Monday, Mohammad Eslami stressed the cultural and border common grounds of Iran and Qatar, saying that it is a fact that the two countries enjoy many opportunities for expanding cooperation. 

Eslami stated: "The Americans have besieged our country for more than 40 years; But whereas this siege was stressful and tiring for us, it still made us grow in all areas."

He appreciated Qatar’s cooperation with Iran during the coronavirus crisis days and noted: "Qatar not only did not suspend flights during the coronavirus outbreak, but also helped Iran in many issues, and this will remain in the history of relations between the two countries."

"We welcome any understanding and cooperation with the government of Qatar in the field of transportation and believe that this cooperation can be fruitful and constructive for both Iran and Qatar and for all countries in the region," he added.

The Qatari minister of transportation and communication for his part assessed positively of the meeting and invite his Iranian counterpart to come to Qatar and visit the country’s project under construction in the transportation field.
