Tehran (IP)- Explaining Iran's principled policy in opposition to policies based on coercion, the Foreign Minister stressed the need for cooperation between the region's countries to resolve issues and reach a stable regional arrangement.

Iran PressIran News: Qatar's Foreign Minister Mohammad bin Abdul Rahman bin Jassim Al Thani, who is headed by a delegation consisting of the Minister of Roads to Tehran, met with Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif.

Welcoming and congratulating Qatar on its recent success in ending the siege, Zarif stressed the importance of bilateral relations with Qatar from the perspective of the Iranian government and people and highlighted Iran's readiness to expand cooperation in various fields.

Explaining the principled policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in opposing policies based on coercion in the region, he stressed the need for cooperation between the countries of the region to resolve issues and reach a stable regional arrangement and evaluated bilateral relations between Iran and Qatar to play an important role in this regard.

The Qatari Foreign Minister also noted the readiness of the Islamic Republic of Iran during the siege of Qatar, noting Doha's readiness to expand bilateral relations at all levels, including the economic sphere.

 The Qatari Foreign Minister said that his visit to Tehran was aimed at expanding bilateral relations and within the framework of regular consultations between the two sides.

Mohammad bin Abdul Rahman bin Jassim Al Thani also stressed the need for a new approach to the region and comprehensive cooperation, and expressed Qatar's readiness to play a key and effective role, and expressed hope that the issues within the framework of regional initiatives would be resolved as soon as possible.

Examining the ways of expanding economic relations as well as common areas of cooperation were other topics discussed and exchanged views of the Foreign Ministers of the Islamic Republic of Iran and Qatar in this meeting.
