Reacting to recent remarks by new US administration officials about Iran's nuclear deal (JCPOA), the Iranian foreign minister said that the Biden administration must adhere to their commitments before making any thoughtless remarks.

Iran PressIran News: Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif wrote in a Twitter message on Thursday evening: "Biden administration officials keep talking about Iran’s compliance with JCPOA In what capacity?"

Zarif added: "The United States withdrew from the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) in May 2018 and violated the agreement and punished those who adhered to the UN resolution."

Referring to the inauguration of the new Biden administration, the Iranian Foreign Minister stressed that to this day, the United States is in exactly the same previous stance. Zarif emphasized that before any thoughtless remark, the US must be committed to its legal obligations.

The new US administration, which has previously promised to return to the agreement and lift sanctions, has made this action conditional on the fulfillment of Iran's obligations.

Meanwhile, the Islamic Republic of Iran considers the United States to be the main violator of UN Security Council Resolution 2231 and emphasizes that only if the sanctions are lifted and the United States returns to the nuclear deal, the steps taken to reduce JCPOA obligations will be reversible. 219
