Tehran (IP) - General vaccination against coronavirus in Iran has started by the order of the country's President on Tuesday morning with the priority of the medical staff on February 9, 2021.

Iran PressIran News: The vaccination against coronavirus in Tehran began with the presence of Iran's Minister of Health Saeed Namaki and many national and international journalists with the direct order of Hassan Rouhani Iran's President at Imam Khomeini Hospital.

Prioritization for vaccination is based on the COVID-19 Vaccination National Document approved by the National Task Force Combatting the coronavirus and in the first phase, health staff and a group of elderly, disabled, and war veterans housed in care centers will be vaccinated.

The first group of priority for vaccination in the medical staff will be those who are caring for the coronavirus patients and ICUs, dealing directly with the coronavirus-infected people.

Speaking to Iran Press, Kianoosh Jahanpour the spokesman for the Food and Drug Administration of Iran, highlighted that vaccination in the country is carried out in three stages and that the project will start with a foreign vaccine approved by the Food and Drug Administration of Iran.
