Tehran (IP) - The Speaker of Iran's Islamic Consultative Assembly said the increase of Iran-Russia parliamentary bilateral ties deepens the two countries' relations and highlighted the emphasis of the message of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution on strategic ties with Russia.

Iran Press/Iran News: Before his departure to Moscow on Sunday, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf referred to the Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei's stress on strategic ties with Russia and stated that in his first trip to Moscow as the parliament speaker, he would carry an important message for the Russian President Vladimir Putin over strategic issues.

Ghalibaf said Tehran-Moscow relations on economic, political, defense, security, technology, scientific, and academic issues are very good and that the bilateral relations between the parliaments of the two countries, especially the Joint High Commission which is chaired by the two Speakers of the Parliament, have been very effective and deepened the relations.

"The two countries have a lot in common on international and regional issues; These commonalities lead us to advance the opportunities through coordination in a newer common framework and appropriate structures for the benefit of the two countries in the region and moving towards a world peace plan," he noted.

The Speaker of Iran's Islamic Consultative Assembly said he would meet with his counterparts in the Duma and the Senate, as well as the Russian economic, trade, political, and security officials over bilateral, global, and regional issues, expressing hope that the consultations lead to deepening the strategic ties between the two countries.

Ghalibaf left Tehran for Moscow on Sunday on the invitation of Russia's Duma Chairman Vyacheslav Volodin.

Holding different meetings over economic relations between the two countries is the main part of his trip to Russia.
