Iran exported most of its petroleum products during US maximum pressure: Official

Tehran (IP) - The chairman of the board of directors of Iran Petrochemical Industries Development Management Company said: "We not only did not kneel down before the sanctions, but we also achieved the record for the largest export of Iranian petroleum products at the time of the sanctions."

Iran PressIran News: Habibollah Bitaraf said: "In the period when we witnessed the most severe sanctions, especially against Iran's oil and petrochemical industry, refineries and petrochemicals operated at full capacity, and the largest export of petroleum products in history was achieved."

He added: "In 1998, Iran Petrochemical produced $15 billion worth of products and exported $10 billion."

He emphasized that the enemy was seeking to reduce Iran's oil exports to zero and prevent petrochemical products' export but failed.

The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Petrochemical Industries Development Company stated that Iran further developed the domestic production of goods and equipment for the oil, gas, and petrochemical industries in the face of heavy and severe sanctions. Petrochemicals are produced domestically.

"Today, more than 65% of the goods and equipment required by the oil and petrochemical industry are produced domestically," he added.
