Vienna (IP) - Iran's ambassador and permanent representative to the International Atomic Energy Agency announced the installation of new IR2m and IR6 centrifuges in Natanz and Fordow.

Iran Press/Iran news: "Kazem Gharibabadi," Iran's ambassador and permanent representative to the International Atomic Energy Agency, tweeted on Tuesday: "Two chains of 348 IR2m centrifuges with approximately four times the IR1 capacity have been successfully installed and are operating with UF6 in Natanz."

Gharibabadi pointed out that the installation of two chains of IR6 centrifuges has also started in Fordow, and emphasized: the installation of more new centrifuges is on the agenda.

The Permanent Representative of Iran to the International Atomic Energy Agency also noted that the IAEA is still able to carry out verification activities and will be informed of planned progress in this area.

Two years after the US unilaterally withdrew from JCPOA and the European parties' delay in fulfilling their obligations under the agreement, Iran began to take steps under IAEA oversight to reduce its obligations.
